☀️ Summer is Almost Here
Recommendations for how to love your life, without all the pressure
As we approach summer, I’m loving the warmer weather, ditching the winter jacket, and feeling my seasonal depression melt away. But with all that comes the anxiety of being “swimsuit” ready, so this week I want to remind you that you already are.
👙 Buy the Swimsuit That Feels Good
Your swimsuit doesn’t need to impress anyone. It just needs to make you feel like you. Buy the one that fits now, that’s comfortable now, that lets you jump in the water or lie in the sun without a second thought.
Self-Care, Because You’ve Got to Put Yourself First
💧 Stay hydrated
If you’re feeling sticky, dry, or just off, it might be dehydration. Make sure to drink lots of water as the temperatures rise, and add lemon, cucumber, or electrolytes if you want to make it special.
🌿 Moisturize smart
Switch to lightweight lotions to keep your skin soft without feeling greasy. Humidity can fool you into thinking you’re hydrated on the outside when you’re not.
🪒 Shave like you know how (only if you want to)
I myself have fallen victim to razor burn…so don’t be like me. If you shave, do it at the end of your shower when your skin is soft. Using a gentle body scrub beforehand can help prevent irritation and leave your skin baby-smooth.
🧴 Wear sunscreen!
Sunscreen is just as important as washing your face or brushing your hair. Use a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen daily, even on cloudy days.
🍦 A Reminder to Eat the Ice Cream
Summer isn’t a deadline to “get it together,” it’s a season to live. Eat the ice cream because it’s hot and you want it. Sip the lemonade or frozen cocktail because it tastes good.
You’re allowed to enjoy things without guilt. This is your life, make the most of it.
📸 Take the Photo
Take the photo. Take a hundred. Not because you need proof you looked a certain way, but because you’re living a life worth remembering. Capture the messy hair, the melted ice cream, the way the sun hits your face.
Photos are for you, not for everybody else’s approval. And if you happen to love the way you look? Post them. Celebrate yourself. You deserve to say, “Hey world, look at me!”
🪭 One Last Tip: Bring a Fan
Manual or automatic, a fan is a summer lifesaver. And a hand fan isn’t just practical, it’s also a cute accessory. I always keep one tucked in my bag for when the heat gets overwhelming.
And when I said the warmer weather was melting my depression, I meant it. Here are a few photos of NYC recently…because honestly, it’s too pretty not to share.

these are such lovely reminders
